Introduction

After years of work and research in China, having completed projects that shaped our path of study and innovation in this extraordinary Asian country, we have given been the opportunity to bring together our first 25 years of work in this publication. The invitation is a mark of recognition of how the ideas behind our work have gradually refined themselves. All of the projects are absolutely shaped by our intent to use each design as a project as an opportunity to bring our own beliefs into dialogue with diverse conditions of the context. We have no doubt that architecture is an art of interpretation that needs technology only to make its stories persuasive. This is what makes every project a new one: our belief that every architecture is always a new story told in materials, spatial conceptions, distributional layouts and decorations, always changeable based on the diversity of the pre-existing environment, i.e. the context, seen as a cultural variable more than a geographic one.
